Notably, the restaurant's owner plans to provide S Jaishankar, the minister of external affairs, with a special Thali prepared just for him. The minister's widespread respect and acclaim among Indian Americans prompted this change.

In 20 major cities across the United States, Indian Americans are planning marches for "India Unity Day" on June 18 to warmly welcome the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi.
On June 21, as the Prime Minister's plane, Air India One would land at Andrews Air Force Base, a meeting of Indian Americans is planned, and in Washington, over 600 members of the community will display the cultural fabric of India at Freedom Plaza.
On June 22, there will be a formal welcome ceremony on the South Lawn of the White House, and about 7,000 Indian Americans are expected to attend. This day is the pinnacle of the spectacular welcome.
