Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple infrastructure projects in Delhi today, totaling over ₹12,000 crore. Among the key highlights is the inauguration of a 13 km stretch of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, providing Delhi's first rapid transit connectivity.
The 13 km section, connecting Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar, is valued at approximately ₹4,600 crore. PM Modi will take a ride on the Namo Bharat train along this newly completed route at 11:15 am, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
Additionally, the Prime Minister will open a 2.8 km stretch of Delhi Metro Phase-IV between Janakpuri and Krishna Park, worth around ₹1,200 crore. This new corridor will improve transit access for west Delhi residents in areas like Vikaspuri and Janakpuri.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the 26.5 km Rithala-Kundli Metro extension under Phase-IV, which will enhance connectivity between northwest Delhi and Haryana’s Kundli area. This project is expected to cost ₹6,230 crore.
In another major development, the Prime Minister will launch the construction of a new Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) campus in Rohini, valued at ₹185 crore.
