PM of India Narendra Modi had a chat with the T20 World Cup winners

India's T20 World Cup-winning team met PM Modi in Delhi, showcasing their trophy. The meeting followed a delayed return due to Hurricane Beryl. Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah were key players in the final victory over South Africa. Celebrations continue with a planned parade in Mumbai.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also wished the team by meeting them on Thursday after they clinched the 2024 T20 World Cup in Barbados. This said meeting was in Delhi and the team was clad in branded T-shirts with ‘CHAMPIONS,’ written all over in large font sizes.
Among the pictures that spread widely on social networks was one that depicted PM Modi with T20 World Cup trophy and the team members. The Indian Board of Cricket in India (BCCI) shared the images and the encounter on the social media pages.
India bagged the T20 World Cup for the second time Saturday evening defeating South Africa by seven wickets in the last match. Kohli made a brilliant knock of 76 which put the Indian side on a dominating position and Pandya and Bumrah sealed it.
The modelling event could not be followed up immediately by a return to India because of the occurrence of a disaster, which was category four Hurricane Beryl which affected Barbados and closed down Grantley Adams International Airport for three days. So, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah himself got a special flight for the team which departed on July 2 and reached Delhi Thursday morning.
Jasprit Bumrah was honored with the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award due to his consistent performance in this tournament where he took 15 wickets and bowled at an economy rate of 4. 17.
The celebrations are anticipated to continue and there are reports of an open-top bus parade proposed in Mumbai later today. It will be held on the Marine Drive and culminate at the Wankhede Stadium so that the fans can be involved in the processions.

This success can be considered as the end of 13-year wait of Indian cricket team in the ICC tournaments and have made millions of cricket fan in India happy.
