Odisha train crash:-


Over 280 people perished in a tragic train accident in Odisha, India, for which US President Joe Biden and other world leaders have expressed their condolences. Three trains were involved in one of India's deadliest rail catastrophes in nearly three decades.


President Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden expressed their deepest condolences to the families of the incident's victims and those injured. The President emphasized the strong ties between the United States and India, stating that the American people lament with their Indian counterparts during this difficult time.

Similarly, Secretary of State of the United States Antony Blinken also expressed his condolences and solidarity with the Indian people. 


External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar thanked the international community for their condolences and emphasized the power that stems from international solidarity.


A collision involving the Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express, the Shalimar-Chennai Central Coromandel Express, and a cargo train occurred in the Balasore district. The incident occurred close to the Bahanaga Bazar train station.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the accident site and conferred with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and emergency management personnel. He also visited the wounded passengers who were hospitalized after successful search operations.


China, the United Kingdom, France, Russia, and Japan also extended their deepest condolences to the afflicted families. In separate messages to President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chinese President Xi Jinping expressed astonishment and offered sincere condolences to the victims' families and the injured. 


Other world leaders, such as Rishi Sunak, Emmanuel Macron, and Fumio Kishida, offered their support, solidarity, and condolences.
