Priyanka Gandhi launched a blistering attack on PM Modi and BJP at a Gujarat rally, accusing them of planning to change the Constitution, criticizing Modi over inflation, and contrasting him with previous PMs.

The Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra launched a stinging attack against the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and the BJP in a rally in Gujarat's Valsad district on Saturday. She levelled charges against the PM for being "arrogant" and accused the BJP of making plans to change the Constitution if voted back in power.
Referring to the sacrifices of her family members, such as her father – former PM Rajiv Gandhi, whom she claimed she brought back in pieces – Priyanka as contrast, juxtaposed Modi with other PMs. "I am aware of the past prime ministers...in that period Indira Ji was there. They sacrificed their lives for the country. Rajiv Gandhi was a prime minister too, I brought him home in pieces, he also sacrificed his life for his country," she said.
She argued that Modi was rather insensitive to the people's real needs. "We have a very arrogant prime minister". No one fears to utter anything to him. What makes you think he would know about your predicament? He is not a messenger of God, so how would he know the real problems?"
Priyanka stated that the BJP officials who are denying their intention to amend the Constitution at present will do so after coming to power. "They will seek to change the Constitution to make the popular power less important and deprive them of their rights," she said.
She went on to lambaste Modi on account of inflation, calling him the "mehengai (price rise) man". She was pointing to the fact that if he so powerful, he could end the rule of poverty.
The leader of the Congress party was advocating for the party's Anant Patel, a ST reserved candidate, in Valsad constituency for the elections on 7th May. The BJP bags the candidate Dhaval Patel.
Gujarat will go to the polls on 25 seats on the third day of the Lok Sabha elections, counting the results on 4 June. The BJP had won all 26 seats in the state in 2014 and 2019 in the past.
