Rabri Devi slammed the Nitish Kumar government for rising crime in Bihar, calling it "Mangalraj." She highlighted 22 Holi-related murders, including an ASI's killing. Accusing the government of ignoring governance, she protested with RJD MLAs. The criticism coincides with an ED probe into Lalu Yadav’s alleged land-for-jobs scam.

A heated debate erupted in the Bihar Assembly on Thursday as former Chief Minister and RJD leader Rabri Devi lashed out at the Nitish Kumar government over deteriorating law and order in the state. She accused the ruling government of suppressing opposition voices and failing to address rampant crimes, including rapes, thefts, and robberies.

Rabri Devi alleged that instead of discussing governance issues, Nitish Kumar repeatedly mentioned her husband, Lalu Prasad Yadav, during the assembly session. "We try to raise public issues, but they silence us. Instead of answering, he keeps saying 'aapka pati’," she remarked.

Her criticism intensified as she highlighted alarming crime statistics, particularly the 22 murders reported in Bihar during Holi celebrations. Among the victims was Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Kumar Singh, who was killed while trying to mediate a dispute in Munger. "If 22 murders happened in just two days, imagine how many are happening every day," she questioned, challenging the government’s claims of "good governance."

Rabri Devi, along with other RJD legislators, staged a protest outside the Bihar Legislative Council, demanding accountability for rising crime. She accused the government of failing to control lawlessness, calling the situation in Bihar "Mangalraj," a term contrasting with the previous "Jungle Raj" label often used against RJD rule.

The controversy comes amid an ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) investigation into the alleged land-for-jobs scam involving Lalu Yadav and his family. Rabri Devi questioned why ED, the Prime Minister, and Nitish Kumar were not being asked about the inquiry’s details.
