Ahead of Jharkhand’s Assembly elections, Rajnath Singh and PM Modi criticized the JMM-led alliance, accusing it of harming tribal interests and promoting infiltration. Singh urged voters to support the BJP for transformative development, while Modi branded the coalition an “infiltrators' alliance” for allegedly supporting Bangladeshi infiltrators.
In the run-up to the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched a scathing attack on the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led coalition, which includes Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). At a rally in Ranchi's Hatia, Singh labeled the coalition “fused crackers” post-Diwali, contrasting it with the BJP, which he described as a “mighty rocket” aimed at elevating the state’s development.
Singh coined the acronym “Jamkar Malai Maro” for JMM, accusing the party of exploiting resources and harming tribal interests. He also criticized JMM leader Hemant Soren, questioning the state’s rising infiltration issues and its shrinking tribal population, now at 28%. Singh urged voters to give BJP two terms, promising substantial development in Jharkhand and a systemic overhaul.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi echoed Singh’s sentiments in an earlier rally, coining the term “Ghuspaithiya Bandhan” (infiltrators' alliance) for the JMM coalition. He alleged that the alliance’s “appeasement politics” fosters support for Bangladeshi infiltrators, which he claimed threatens tribal communities.
