YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has moved the Supreme Court to club multiple FIRs filed against him over allegedly obscene remarks on India’s Got Latent. The Maharashtra Cyber Department and Assam Police have initiated legal action, while Allahbadia and co-creator Samay Raina have publicly apologised and removed the content.

YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia has approached the Supreme Court to seek the clubbing of multiple FIRs filed against him over allegedly obscene remarks made during a guest appearance on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent. The Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna has assured that the case will be listed for hearing soon.
The controversy erupted after a video clip from the show went viral, in which Allahbadia posed an inappropriate question to a contestant. Following widespread public backlash, the Maharashtra Cyber Department filed an FIR against him, comedian Samay Raina, and other artists involved in the show. The case was registered under relevant sections of the IT Act, with authorities demanding the removal of all 18 episodes of the programme.
Additionally, the Assam Police has issued fresh summons to Allahbadia and YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani, who was also part of the panel. The Guwahati Police registered an FIR on February 10, accusing the content creators of “promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussions.” Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the legal proceedings against them.
Following the backlash, Allahbadia issued a public apology, admitting his lack of judgement. Meanwhile, Samay Raina deleted all episodes of the show and expressed his distress over the controversy, stating he would fully cooperate with investigative agencies.
