In a tragic incident early Saturday morning, a senior police officer lost his life after being struck by a speeding bus in the Rangareddy district of Telangana. The deceased, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) TN Nandeshwara Balaji, was on his routine morning walk near a Hanuman temple in Laxma Reddy Pallem when the accident occurred around 4:40 am.

According to initial reports, the bus involved belonged to the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) and was on its way from Abdullapurmet to Hayathnagar. The vehicle, operated by the Nuizveedu Depot, allegedly hit the officer due to rash and negligent driving. Balaji suffered multiple injuries and died on the spot, officials confirmed.

The tragic scene unfolded in a quiet residential area, shaking the local community and prompting swift police action. A case has been registered at Hayathnagar police station, and an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances behind the fatal accident.

There were thirteen passengers on board the bus at the time of the incident, but none were injured. Officials have assured that all necessary steps will be taken to hold the driver accountable if found guilty of negligence.

This accident follows a string of similar incidents in recent days, highlighting growing concerns over road safety and reckless driving in various parts of the country. Just days earlier, other fatal collisions involving buses and trucks were reported in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh.
