President Donald Trump has lifted a pause on bomb deliveries to Israel imposed by Joe Biden, fulfilling his pledge to bolster Israel’s military capabilities. The Biden-era hold aimed to limit civilian casualties in Gaza. Trump’s move underscores his commitment to supporting Israel while pressing for a swift resolution to the conflict.

President Donald Trump’s administration has reversed a policy instituted by Joe Biden, ordering the release of 2,000-pound bombs and other munitions for Israel, a White House official confirmed. The Biden administration had paused the delivery of 3,500 bombs in May, citing concerns over civilian casualties in Rafah during Israel’s conflict with Hamas.

The reversal aligns with Trump’s campaign promises to provide Israel with the military resources it deems necessary to address the conflict. Despite this, Trump has urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to expedite the conclusion of the military operations.

The decision comes after significant US-Israeli tensions during the Biden administration, reflecting a change in diplomatic tone under Trump, who returned to the presidency on January 20. The administration has also facilitated ceasefire and hostage negotiations, further emphasising Trump’s proactive stance on Middle East policy.
