A powerful explosion at the Asian Fireworks factory in Kamleshwar taluka claimed two lives and left three others injured on Sunday, according to police reports. Authorities are yet to determine the exact cause of the blast.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Harsh Poddar confirmed the incident, stating that a forensic investigation would be conducted to ascertain the reason behind the explosion. "Two people died, and three sustained minor injuries in the blast. The fire has been brought under control," he said.

A police team was immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving information about the explosion. At the time of the incident, around 31 workers were present in the factory. The injured have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, and their condition is reported to be stable.

Fireworks manufacturing involves handling highly combustible materials, making factories prone to accidents. Officials have initiated a detailed probe to check if safety norms were violated. Factory management and workers will be questioned as part of the investigation.

This incident comes weeks after a similar explosion at an ordnance factory in Maharashtra’s Bhandara district, where eight people lost their lives. The recurring factory accidents have raised concerns about workplace safety regulations in hazardous industries.
