Yogi Adityanath, addressing a Haryana rally, shared his encounter with a Maulvi in J&K who greeted him with “Ram Ram,” highlighting the impact of Article 370’s abrogation. Adityanath pointed to this as evidence of cultural change in the region and emphasized the absence of communal violence under his leadership in UP.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while addressing a rally in Faridabad ahead of Haryana’s assembly elections on October 5, narrated an encounter from his recent visit to Jammu and Kashmir. Recalling the incident, Adityanath described being greeted with “Ram Ram” by a Muslim cleric, which he cited as a sign of the positive changes in the region following the abrogation of Article 370.
Adityanath recounted, “I was in Jammu and Kashmir for the assembly elections. As I entered the airport, a man greeted me with ‘Yogi Sahab Ram Ram.’ To my surprise, he was a Maulvi.” The chief minister highlighted this as an example of the transformation in J&K, attributing it to the BJP’s efforts to integrate the region more closely with the rest of India.
He further claimed that those who once opposed India’s sovereignty are now embracing greetings like "Ram Ram," and expressed confidence that this change would deepen, with clerics one day chanting “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna” on Indian streets. Adityanath also emphasized the absence of communal violence in Uttar Pradesh under his leadership, contrasting it with the frequent riots in the state before his tenure.
