A 12-member gang in Kerala kidnapped two men and stole gold worth ₹1.8 crore by ambushing their car on a national highway. The incident, caught on dashcam, shows the gang using SUVs to corner the vehicle. Police have formed a special investigation team, and a separate ATM robbery also occurred in Thrissur.

A 12-member gang ambushed a car on the national highway near Peechi, Kerala, kidnapping two men and stealing over 2.5 kg of gold ornaments worth ₹1.84 crore. The gang used three SUVs to corner the vehicle in broad daylight as the road narrowed near a construction zone. The incident, captured on dashcam footage and shared on social media, shows the gang blocking the car and abducting the occupants, identified as Arun Sunny and Rojy Thomas.
According to police, the crime occurred on September 22, and an FIR was filed under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The victims were assaulted and robbed before being released.

The Kerala Police have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the incident. Meanwhile, another robbery occurred in Thrissur, where a five-member gang used a gas cutter to steal ₹65 lakh from three ATMs. CCTV cameras were painted over, but nearby footage captured masked men approaching an ATM, complicating their identification.
