Union Home Minister Amit Shah criticized West Bengal’s TMC government for alleged “state-sponsored infiltration,” while launching BJP’s membership drive in Kolkata. Union Home Minister Amit Shah launched a fierce critique against West Bengal's Trinamool Congress (TMC) government, led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, during the BJP’s membership drive in Kolkata. Shah accused the TMC of enabling “state-sponsored infiltration” and pledged that the BJP will counteract this issue by forming a government in West Bengal in 2026. Shah’s rally included BJP leader Mithun Chakraborty, as they rallied supporters to oust Banerjee, targeting a membership drive of one crore people.

The BJP leader highlighted concerns over alleged infiltration and border security issues, promising that a BJP-led government would tackle these and curb smuggling activities if elected. Shah’s message also emphasized BJP’s non-dynastic, grassroots leadership model, contrasting it with what he described as caste- and family-based leadership in other parties.

Shah criticized the TMC's handling of the RG Kar rape-murder case and other law and order issues, arguing that Bengal's safety and dignity are at risk under the current administration. He promised that a BJP victory in 2026 would secure a two-thirds majority, which he claimed would help curb violence and restore dignity to the state’s citizens.

Shah also took a jab at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the INDIA alliance, dismissing their gains in the Lok Sabha elections as insignificant compared to BJP's performance. Shah underscored BJP’s success in states like Haryana and declared BJP’s intentions to extend its influence in Jharkhand and Maharashtra.
