An Accident in Thane Results in the Death of a 40-year-old Gujarati Motorist

In a tragic incident, a driver lost his life when a container truck he was driving collided with another vehicle early on Saturday morning. A civic officer reported the incident in Thane, Maharashtra.


According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the container truck was traveling at high speed when it collided. The impact of the collision was severe, causing significant damage to both vehicles and trapping the driver inside the disfigured container truck.

Local authorities and emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene after receiving distress calls from witnesses. Firefighters and paramedics worked tirelessly to extricate the driver from the wreckage. However, their efforts were in vain, as the driver succumbed to his injuries before they could reach him.


The officials said the truck collided with another container from behind near Patlipada on Ghodbunder Road at approximately 2.15 am.

THANE: A 40-year-old driver from Gujarat died in a freak mishap at Ghodbunder road in Thane during the wee hours of Saturday, after a container truck collided with another cargo-carrying truck.

The container carrying 18 tonnes of solar panels from Gujarat to Nhava Sheva was traveling forward when it collided with another container holding 10 tonnes of clothing from Rajasthan. Yasin Tadvi, head of the disaster management department for the Thane civic authority, claimed that as a result, the driver of the container from Rajasthan died.


Majjid Khan, the driver who passed away, was 40 years old. His body was discovered inside the wrecked driver’s cabin. The officials stated that the deceased was sent to a government hospital for a post-mortem.


This unfortunate accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the potential consequences of negligence behind the wheel. The authorities are determined to take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future, ensuring the safety of all road users.
