Speaking exclusively to The New Indian, Kapoor unequivocally stated that Sridevi's passing was indeed accidental, refuting any notions of natural causes. Recounting the harrowing experience, Kapoor recounted a grueling 48-hour police interrogation by Dubai authorities, pressured by the intensity of Indian media interest. Faced with insinuations of his involvement in her demise, Kapoor, who had already undergone a rigorous investigation and lie detector tests in Dubai, chose to remain silent.

"I reiterated my stance that there was nothing more to add. They concluded there was no foul play. I underwent all tests, including lie detector examinations, and the final report unequivocally affirmed accidental drowning," affirmed Boney Kapoor.

Delving further, Boney Kapoor shared insights into Sridevi's relentless pursuit of physical perfection for the screen. Disciplining herself with stringent dietary regimens, she whittled her weight down to a mere 46-47 kilograms during the filming of 'English Vinglish.' Strikingly, she entirely forsook salt from her diet, a choice that would later have repercussions.

"Since our marriage, there were instances of fainting spells attributed to her persistently low blood pressure. The doctor advised against extreme diets that omitted salt," Kapoor revealed.
