The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is gearing up for the
upcoming elections in Rajasthan as Defence Minister Rajnath Singh flagged off
the third phase of the party's 'Parivartan Yatra' from Jaisalmer district on
Monday.
The BJP claims that the "Parivartan Yatra"
will travel 2,574 kilometers over 18 days as it visits 51 constituencies in the
Jodhpur division, including Nagaur and Ajmer. According to the BJP's Jodhpur
branch, the yatra will end in the city on September 21.
This long trip will include 33 constituencies across
six districts of the Jodhpur division (Jaisalmer, Barmer, Sirohi, Jalore, Pali,
and Jodhpur). It will also travel through 8 constituencies in the district of
Ajmer and 10 in the district of Nagaur.
The BJP has scheduled 45 rallies for this yatra, the
last of which will take place in Jodhpur. Amrita Rahatkar, BJP National
Secretary and Rajasthan Co-Incharge, and Jagveer Chhaba, BJP National Secretary
and Jodhpur Division Incharge, oversaw the event's planning.
The BJP has asked its members, workers, and leaders to
prepare by arranging for transportation to the public meetings and encouraging
people in their particular areas to actively participate in them.
As Rajasthan gears up for assembly elections later
this year, the significance of these yatras cannot be overstated.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Amit Shah accused leaders
from the DMK, including the son of the Tamil Nadu chief minister, of calling
for the eradication of 'Sanatan Dharma' in a public rally at Beneshwar Dham in
Dungarpur district. He also made accusations against Rahul Gandhi, the leader
of the Congress party, saying that Gandhi had said that Hindu groups were more
dangerous than the Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Shah made these comments at the beginning of the
launch of the BJP's Parivartan Yatra in
Beneshwar Dham in Dungarpur district.
Beneshwar Dham, a sacred site for tribal communities,
is located at the confluence of the Som, Mahi, and Jakham rivers on the
Banswara-Dungarpur border.
