Drug and Weapon Seizures: Tripura and Chhattisgarh State Police Take Action respectively

In an operation conducted yesterday, Tripura police successfully intercepted a vehicle in the northern district of Tripura, Churaibari, based on undisclosed information. This strategic checkpoint operation led to the arrest of three drug peddlers. The police's vigilance paid off, as they managed to seize a substantial quantity of illicit substances, specifically 1.3 kilograms of heroin. This cache of drugs holds an estimated street value of approximately Rs 10 crore.
Bhanupada Chakraborty, the Superintendent of Police for North Tripura, provided insights into the operation by revealing that the heroin was cleverly concealed within soap cases. This operation stands as a significant accomplishment in the ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking in the region of Tripura.
In Chhattisgarh, a recent encounter between Naxal insurgents and security forces, occurring within the jurisdiction of the Orchha Police Station in the Narayanpur district, has yielded significant results. According to the statement made by SP Narayanpur, Pushkar Sharma, the security forces successfully retrieved the body of a Naxal combatant with a possibility of more dead bodies to be found of Naxals.
This operation not only led to the recovery of the insurgent's body but also included a substantial cache of arms and ammunition seized from the possession of the Naxal. Among the recovered items were a 315-bore rifle and a .12-bore rifle, underscoring the significance of this encounter in terms of enhancing security and curbing insurgent activities in the region of Chhattisgarh.
Another latest news coming from West Bengal, qcting on credible information, the 75 Battalion of the BSF and the Narcotic Control Bureau Zonal Headquarters in Kolkata conducted a joint operation in a Coochbehar border village on August 20th. They recovered a homemade pistol with live rounds, 2200 Yaba tablets worth Rs 11,00,000, 100 bottles of prohibited cough syrup worth Rs 18,680, and Rs 43,76,000 in Indian currency from a suspected house near the Indo-Bangladesh border. The seized items have been handed over to the NCB for further legal action.
