In a recent social media incident, Elon Musk expressed his support for Sriram Krishnan, an Indian-origin entrepreneur appointed as Senior White House Policy Advisor on Artificial Intelligence by U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. The controversy erupted when a user on X (formerly Twitter) posted a racist image that depicted Krishnan as "butter chicken," a dish commonly associated with Indian cuisine.

The post, intended to mock Krishnan, featured an AI-generated image replacing Krishnan’s facial features with that of the food item. This led to widespread outrage online, with many condemning the racist nature of the image. Investor Jason also voiced his disapproval, labeling the attack as “disgusting” and defending Krishnan as “awesome.”

Musk’s response came in the form of a “Hundred Points” emoticon, a symbol used to convey support or agreement. This emoji response was interpreted as Musk's silent yet firm condemnation of the racist post. Many social media users joined in expressing their disgust, with some questioning the humor behind the picture.

The incident also highlighted growing anti-India sentiments in the U.S., with certain groups targeting Indian professionals. The debate around immigration, particularly regarding H-1B visas and green card policies, has contributed to the escalating tensions. As a result, the incident has sparked discussions on the intersection of race, immigration, and job opportunities in the tech industry.
