The India Meteorological Department says that there's a good chance that some parts of Odisha, Karnataka, West Bengal, Telangana, and coastal Andhra Pradesh would experience heat wave-like temperatures during the next several days.
Up until April 7, 2024, there is predicted to be an increase in rainfall and thunderstorm activity in Northeast India. Heat waves are predicted to envelop many areas of eastern and peninsular India between April 3 and April 6, 2024, according to the most recent IMDadvisory.
The IMD bulletin states that heat waves are predicted to occur in isolated portions of North Interior Karnataka from April 3–5, in Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal from April 4–7, in Telangana, Jharkhand, and Rayalaseema from April 4–6, and in Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from April 3–6 of 2024.
According to the study, hot and muggy weather is expected in coastal Karnataka from March 2–April 7, 2024; in Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Rayalaseema, from March 3–April 5, 2024; and on April 3, 2024.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a previous warning earlier this week stating that extreme heat is predicted to hit India from April through June. The weather agency states that the central and western peninsular parts of the nation are among the most likely to be affected.
