An active shooter situation in East Cleveland, Ohio, has left at least one person dead and multiple others injured, including two police officers, according to local reports. The incident reportedly began at the 1900 block of North Taylor Road and Euclid Avenue, with NE Ohio Scanner documenting ongoing gunfire as authorities attempted to secure the scene.
One officer was initially reported shot in the leg, while a second victim was found with multiple gunshot wounds but remained alive. As the search intensified, a K9 unit and drones were deployed to locate the suspect. A second drone was sent up when it appeared the shooter had not yet been found.
Later updates indicated more shots were fired at the Town House Motel on Euclid Avenue, where the suspect was believed to be cornered behind the building. During this phase, a second officer was reported down and taken for medical attention. It remains unclear whether this injury was connected to the initial shooting.
Authorities have surrounded a house linked to the investigation, and a SWAT team is reportedly preparing to breach. Emergency services have been asked to remain on standby until the scene is declared safe.

City officials have confirmed that no further public statements will be made until a press conference scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, where the mayor and police will provide official updates.
