Aparna Sen expressed her reaction to the violent Manipur videos depicting two indigenous women being assaulted and questioned how such violence could exist in a democratic society.

In an open letter to Mamata Banerjee, Aparna Sen also accuses her administration of being to blame for the unrest during the most recent panchayat elections in West Bengal. 52 fatalities were noted by Aparna in her letter.

Aparna Sen wrote in her letter, “I don’t know what West Bengal’s future holds, but I can tell it's gloomy. During CPIM, the modification was required. However, TMC is now engaged in other activities. I've written one open letter to the chief minister, Mamata Banerjee.

She said, “I don’t know if it will work or not,” after condemning the bloodshed and fatalities during the elections. It is regrettable that the poll is to blame for many deaths in West Bengal. It’s challenging to remark. The police, administration, and all officers should be informed.
