First Private Train Service of Kerala to be Launched on June 4

Kerala to launch its first private train service on June 4, with an inaugural journey to Goa, operated by SRMPR and Princy World Travels under Indian Railways' Bharat Gaurav Yatra project.

The state of Kerala is going to launch its first private train services on June 4th, making a new chapter in the tourism sector of the state. The first trip will be made to the coastal state of Goa due to the unique partnership of the Indian Railways and various private sectors.

SRMPR Global Railways Pvt. Ltd. and Princy World Travels Pvt. Ltd. (a joint venture of private train operators) are part of the Bharat Gaurav Yatra initiative launched by the Indian Railways. The SRMPR has hired a train from the national railway to be turned into a national spot for tourism in Kerala and its nearby areas.

"It is for the first time that Indian Railways is teaming up with us and Princy World Travel is offering the first private train service in Kerala," said Devika Menon, Director of Princy World Travel. "The train operations will be the responsibility of SRMPR but we will run the ticketing, marketing, and tour packages."

The first stage which starts from Thiruvananthapuram on 4th June will include major stations like Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasargode to collect passengers. The train has an on-board capacity of 750 passengers, distributed across 2 sleeper class coaches, 11 third-class AC coaches, and 2 second-class AC coaches.

The crew of 60 will be responsible for passenger comfort and safety throughout the passenger's journey on board the private train. The crew will be composed of doctors and nurses who have been trained for this mission. There will be extras like food services, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a GPS tracking system to make the travel experience convenient for the passengers. The packages will include hotels, food, and sightseeing at the destinations.

The Goa 4-day trip package is priced at Rs. 13,999 for unreserved AC sleeper class, Rs. Rs.15,150 for 3-tier AC, Rs.10,090 for AC chair car, and Rs.5,245 for Chair car.16,400 for 2-tier AC. However, an 8-day excursion to Ayodhya, covering religious sites at Ayodhya, Varanasi, and Prayagraj, may cost around Rs.30,550 and Rs. 37,150 approximately, based on the travel class.

The private train service which is projected to draw tourists to Kerala and beyond is something the state looks forward to with enthusiasm and keenness to host visitors from all over India and offer them a distinctive and pleasant travel experience.
