Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has refuted claims circulating on social media that the state is witnessing low tourist footfall this holiday season. Addressing concerns raised by influencers, Sawant emphasized that “all hotels are full” and popular coastal spots remain crowded with visitors.

The chief minister criticized influencers for allegedly spreading misleading information, suggesting that tourists were opting for other destinations over Goa. “It is wrong to say tourists are not coming to Goa. Roads and beaches are packed, and international tourists have arrived in large numbers,” Sawant stated. He invited skeptics to visit and witness the bustling activity for themselves.

December is a crucial period for Goa’s tourism sector, with festivals, Christmas celebrations, and New Year events drawing large crowds. Sawant reassured that the months of November, December, and January continue to attract heavy tourist inflows.

Goa’s tourism minister Rohan Khaunte echoed Sawant’s remarks, accusing certain influencers of “defaming” the state for personal gain. “Some are trying to market other destinations by falsely claiming Goa has lost its charm. We will expose such attempts,” Khaunte warned.
