Aditya Surjewala leads the Kaithal constituency by nearly 10,000 votes in the Haryana Assembly elections, following the legacy of his family. With 47,778 votes, he aims to focus on development and infrastructure. His victory could reshape the political landscape, reversing his father's recent electoral losses to BJP's Leela Ram.

In a significant lead, Aditya Surjewala, the 25-year-old Congress candidate, is ahead in the Kaithal constituency by 9,898 votes, garnering 47,778 votes against veteran BJP leader Leela Ram, who has received 37,880 votes. This marks a crucial moment for Surjewala, following the political legacy of his grandfather, Shamsher Singh Surjewala, and his father, Randeep Singh Surjewala.
Aditya, a recent graduate from the University of British Columbia, has campaigned actively in Kaithal despite facing opposition jibes, focusing on development, employment, and infrastructure issues. He aims to address the neglect of these areas under the current BJP government. His campaign slogan, "Kaam He Pehchan" (Work is Recognition), emphasizes the importance of tangible development.

Historically, the constituency has been significant for the Surjewala family. Aditya's grandfather won the seat in 2005, while his father, Randeep, was victorious in 2009 and 2014. However, Randeep lost the seat in the 2019 elections to Leela Ram, who previously won on an Indian National Lok Dal ticket before joining the BJP.
As the counting of votes continues, Surjewala's potential victory could reshape the political landscape of Kaithal and reinforce the Surjewala family's influence in Haryana.
