Union Minister Kiren Rijiju

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju strongly criticized Rahul Gandhi for his recent remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the United States. Rijiju expressed his disbelief at Gandhi's intense dislike for Modi, stating that his sole purpose seems to be tarnishing the image of both the Prime Minister and India as a whole.

Rijiju further suggested that Gandhi's resentment stems from his inability to accept a "common man" ascending to the position of India's Prime Minister and emphasized that nobody takes his words seriously.

Anurag Thakur, another minister from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), also condemned Gandhi's statements made in San Francisco, California. Thakur accused Gandhi of insulting India every time he lands on foreign soil and refusing to acknowledge Prime Minister Modi's popularity among world leaders.

Thakur cited instances where international leaders have praised Modi, including the Australian Prime Minister referring to him as "the Boss" and a foreign Prime Minister greeting him by touching his feet. Thakur argued that Gandhi and the Congress party struggle to accept these instances of global recognition for Modi.

Shehzad Poonwalla, the BJP's national spokesperson, criticized Gandhi as an "entitled dynast" who mocked Tamil culture during his overseas visits. Poonwalla accused Gandhi of disregarding the Indian way of showing respect.

During his visit to the US, Rahul Gandhi referred to Prime Minister Modi as a representative of a group that claims to possess all knowledge, surpassing even that of God, while failing to grasp anything substantial.

Gandhi alleged that the combination of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP is undermining the Indian constitution.

In response to a question about the treatment of Muslims in India, he drew a parallel between their current situation and the plight of Dalits in the 1980s. Gandhi asserted that India was not a fair society for Dalits, tribals, minorities, and the economically disadvantaged.

He also criticized the economic inequality in the country and the controversy surrounding the inauguration of the new Parliament building.

Notably, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi reacted to Gandhi's statement about Muslims being the most targeted under the BJP-led government at the Centre. Owaisi claimed that political secularism has harmed the Muslim community and pointed out instances in Rajasthan where the Congress chief minister took 15 days to meet the families of victims who were promised financial compensation significantly lower than what others receive.
