Parliamentary Affairs Minister Announces All-Party Floor Leaders Meeting Ahead of Special Session

Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi announced on Wednesday that an all-party floor leaders meeting has been convened ahead of the upcoming parliament session on September 17.

"Ahead of the parliament session from the 18th of this month, an all-party floor leaders meeting has been convened on the 17th at 4.30 PM,” said Joshi on micro-blogging site X.

The Minister further mentioned, "The invitation for the same has been sent to concerned leaders through email. Letter to follow."

The opposition has raised concerns and criticized the BJP-led central government for organizing a special session of Parliament without revealing the agenda beforehand.

Previously, the Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister had provided information regarding the upcoming five-day special session of Parliament, scheduled to occur between September 18 and September 22.

As of now, the specific agenda for the special session has not been made public.

The Monsoon Session of the Parliament, which took place in the old Parliament building, came to an end last month.

The unexpected announcement of the Special Session has caused a stir in political circles, particularly as political parties are currently preparing for assembly elections in five states scheduled later this year.
