Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was marked by a significant milestone as he laid the foundation stone for a cutting-edge International Cricket Stadium.


The state government's allocation of ₹121 crores for land acquisition, coupled with an additional ₹330 crores investment from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), underscores the ambitious scope of this project.

The ceremony was graced by iconic cricketers like Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Shastri, and Vengsarkar, lending a touch of cricketing prestige to the event. Noteworthy figures from the BCCI, including President Roger Binny, Vice President Rajiv Shukla, and Secretary Jay Shah, were also in attendance.


Upon completion, this stadium will become Uttar Pradesh's third international cricketing venue, joining the ranks of Kanpur and Lucknow.


In addition to this sports-centric achievement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath disclosed that the Prime Minister would inaugurate 16 newly established Atal Residential Schools, a venture amounting to approximately ₹1,115 crore.

Modi would also partake in the closing and award ceremony of the Cultural Mahotsav 2023.Prior to his Varanasi excursion, Modi inaugurated the 'International Lawyers’Conference 2023' at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Organized by the Bar Council of India, the conference delved into the theme of 'Emerging Challenges in the Justice Delivery System', spanning across both Saturday and Sunday. This underscored the government's commitment to advancing legal reforms and practices.
