PM Modi's Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikash

In a recent press conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded with conviction when questioned about the rights of Muslims, asserting that India is a staunch democracy where discrimination has no place. The query focused on the measures the government intends to undertake to enhance minority rights in the country.

"India is a democracy, and democracy is deeply ingrained in our DNA, just as it is in America," stated PM Modi, highlighting the shared democratic values between the two nations.

He emphasized that democracy is not just a concept but a way of life in India, enshrined in the nation's Constitution. He made it clear that discrimination based on caste, creed, or religion is unequivocally rejected in India, stating, "That is why India believes in 'sabka saath, sabka vikas, sabka vishwas, sabka prayaas' and moves forward with it."

Earlier, former US President Barack Obama had suggested that President Joe Biden should raise concerns about minority rights in India during their meeting.

Obama expressed the view that protecting the rights of ethnic minorities is crucial for India's unity, cautioning that failure to do so could lead to internal conflicts and the disintegration of the country.

Obama stated, "If I had a conversation with PM Modi, who I know well, I would argue that if the rights of ethnic minorities in India are not safeguarded, there is a strong possibility that India will face fragmentation. We have witnessed the consequences of internal conflicts on a large scale. This is not only contrary to the interests of Muslim and Hindu communities but to the entire nation. Thus, it is vital to have honest discussions about such matters."
