A 42-year-old software engineer from Pune, Ravi Karnani, and his wife experienced a harrowing attack when a mob of men on motorcycles chased their car and damaged it with iron rods on Lavale-Nande road in the early hours of September 29. The couple was able to escape and reach their home in Sus, after which Karnani filed a complaint with the Paud police.
The incident reportedly involved 40 people armed with sticks and rods, targeting the couple’s car at a speed of 80 km/h. Karnani alleged that the attackers often target vehicles with out-of-state license plates, with two motorcycles and a car pursuing them. Despite filing a complaint, progress in the investigation has been slow.
