In a momentous event scheduled for December 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to inaugurate the Surat Diamond Bourse (SDB) within Gujarat's sprawling DREAM City. This architectural marvel stands as the world's largest office building, encompassing a staggering 67 lakh square feet of space. The unveiling marks a significant milestone for the region and the diamond trading industry.

The SDB, situated in the Khajod village near Surat city, is poised to become a hub for diamond trading activities, accommodating approximately 4,500 offices dedicated to the diamond trade. A remarkable feat within the business landscape, this monumental structure is a testament to innovation and growth within Gujarat's economic infrastructure.

Notably, the inauguration by PM Modi signifies a culmination of efforts that began in 2015, initiated by former Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. Her groundbreaking ceremony marked the commencement of the SDB and DREAM City project, laying the foundation for this remarkable architectural accomplishment.

Presently, the SDB has already commenced operations, witnessing the relocation of 26 diamond trading firms from Mumbai to its premises. Moreover, a notable influx of traders from Surat and various parts of Gujarat further solidifies the bourse's significance within the diamond trading sphere.

The monumental structure, sprawling across a vast 35.54-acre plot within the DREAM City, boasts nine towers comprising ground-plus-15 floors. The office spaces within these towers range from 300 sq ft to a staggering 1 lakh sq ft, providing a diverse array of options to accommodate the burgeoning diamond trade community.

The impending inauguration on December 17 serves as a testament to Surat's emergence as a key player in the global diamond trading arena, solidifying its position as a pivotal business destination.
