The distribution of Tirupati laddus at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya has sparked controversy after allegations of "animal fat" in the ghee used to make them. The controversy has led to demands for an investigation, with both Andhra Pradesh leaders and the Union government now involved in the matter.
Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, revealed that 300 kg of prasad from the Tirupati temple was distributed during the pran pratishtha (consecration) ceremony of the Ram Temple earlier this year. However, this prasad has become the center of controversy after the TDP government in Andhra Pradesh alleged the use of "animal fat" in the ghee used to prepare the laddus.
The controversy erupted after Chandrababu Naidu's TDP party cited a lab report from Gujarat that claimed the presence of "beef tallow" and other animal fats in the ghee. This has led to widespread outrage among devotees, with Acharya Das condemning the alleged use of such ingredients, calling it an “unforgivable” act.

While the controversy continues, former Andhra CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has denied the allegations, calling them baseless. The Union government has also stepped in, with health minister JP Nadda seeking a detailed report from the Andhra Pradesh government.
