Tragic Incident: Building Collapsed in Navi Mumbai

Late at night on Wednesday tragedy struck a building in Navi Mumbai. A portion of the building collapsed in the Nerul area of Navi Mumbai. 

Rajesh Narvekar, Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, stated that the slab of the 3rd floor of Tulsi Bhavan building collapsed around 9 pm. He mentioned that two people had died, and two had been hospitalized. He also stated that the building had been evacuated and mentioned that a structural audit of the building would be conducted the following day.

The Commissioner of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), further reported that the collapse of a section of the three-story building in Nerul, Navi Mumbai, on Wednesday night, resulted in the deaths of two individuals and injuries to two others. The official count of casualties, according to NMMC's disaster management cell, will be confirmed after a medical examination is conducted at DY Patil Hospital.

Civic officials explained that a substantial section, specifically the floor of the third-story hallway, collapsed, falling onto both the first and second floors. They noted that the building's interior had become completely hollow, with most of the lower level being severely damaged, but the outer structure of the building remained intact.

Following the incident, NMMC's disaster management cell swiftly mobilized two fire engines and four ambulances for the rescue operation.
