A New Jersey Uber Eats driver discovered an ounce of marijuana disguised as a burrito, leading to a police investigation. The suspicious package, emitting a strong odor, prompted the driver to alert authorities. Uber condemned the incident, highlighting the misuse of delivery services for illicit activities.
An Uber Eats delivery in New Jersey took a surprising turn when a driver found an ounce of marijuana wrapped in foil to mimic a burrito. The incident occurred in Lindenwold, Camden County, prompting an investigation by Washington Township Police.
The driver, initially delivering a burrito, soup, and water, grew suspicious due to a strong marijuana odor coming from the package. Acting on her instincts, she contacted the authorities. Police Chief Patrick Gurcsik confirmed the package contained a large zip-closed bag of raw marijuana, not the expected meal.

Investigators believe the Uber delivery platform, which prohibits transporting illegal substances, was exploited for this transaction. Uber has condemned the incident as “deeply disturbing” and praised the driver’s quick response. Police are now working to trace the package’s origins.
