Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday conducted an inspection of the progress made in the ongoing construction work of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
Just before this visit, the UP CM went to offer his prayers to Lord Ram Lalla at the Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. Yogi Adityanath will also take part in various other activities following his visit to the Ram Janmabhoomi complex, as reported by the official statement from the chief minister's office.
His program also includes the inspection of the works of the ongoing temple construction. Currently, the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is progressing at a rapid pace.
In February 2020, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the establishment of the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra, which was tasked with the responsibility of supervising the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. On August 5, 2020, he conducted the Bhoomi puja, marking the beginning of the construction of the Ram Temple.
Prior to this development, on November 9, 2019, a five-judge Supreme Court bench, presided over by the then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, issued a landmark ruling in favour of Ram Lalla.
This judgement determined that the entire disputed land, covering 2.7 acres, would be entrusted to a government-formed trust. This trust was specifically formed to oversee and manage the construction of the Ram Temple at the site.
