Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has received a death threat demanding his resignation within 10 days. The threat, citing former minister Baba Siddique’s recent assassination, has led to heightened security and an active investigation by Mumbai Police to trace the source.
In a chilling development, Mumbai Police have reported receiving a death threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, with a demand for his resignation within ten days. The threat, delivered via a WhatsApp message to Mumbai Traffic Police, ominously warned that Adityanath would face a fate similar to that of former minister Baba Siddique, who was recently murdered in Mumbai.
The message was received on Saturday evening from an unknown number, and authorities have launched an extensive investigation to trace the sender. In light of the threat, security around Adityanath has been substantially increased, particularly as he is expected to visit Maharashtra soon for the ongoing state assembly election campaign.
The reference to Baba Siddique’s killing adds a sense of urgency to the situation. Siddique, a former NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) leader, was shot dead by assailants during Dussehra celebrations last month, a crime that has already sent ripples of unease throughout the region.
This threat to Adityanath comes on the heels of similar incidents involving other public figures. Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently received a threatening message demanding ₹2 crore, reportedly from individuals associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had previously targeted him.

Mumbai Police, working closely with Maharashtra state security, are prioritizing this case, conducting forensic analyses, and expanding surveillance to prevent any harm to Adityanath. As tensions rise, the authorities are maintaining a heightened alert, monitoring communication channels, and preparing additional security measures to protect the UP Chief Minister from any potential risks.
