UP: Teenager Electrocuted to Death, Several Injured in Mathura

In an unfortunate incident, a teenager was electrocuted to death on Wednesday morning in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura.

As per a report by ANI, during a religious preaching session conducted by Khatu Shyam Baba for his devotees, an iron barricade in close proximity to the teenager became unexpectedly electrified.

This sudden electrical discharge resulted in severe shocks to the teenager, ultimately leading to the teenager's unfortunate demise at the scene.

While informing about the incident, the local SP disclosed, “All the injured persons were admitted to a nearby hospital. Some of them were discharged after receiving first-aid while the rest are still undergoing treatment at the hospital.”

Revealing the cause of the accident, he stated, “We learned that the incident took place at 1.30 am on Wednesday morning when local artistes were singing bhajans

(devotional songs) on stage and the devotees were sitting rapt in the audience."

The official mentioned, “The current from the generator electrified the iron barricade and bedlam broke after the teenager was electrocuted to death.”

He further added, “The electricity supply in the area was stopped and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital."

The report further claimed that more than six individuals sustained injuries in the incident.
