4 Indians Dead in Fiery Texas Crash Involving 5 Vehicles: Who Were the Victims?

Four Indian nationals tragically died in a fiery multi-vehicle crash in Texas. The victims, who had connected through a carpooling app, were identified as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla, and Darshini Vasudevan. The crash led to a fire that charred the SUV they were traveling in.

Four Indian nationals died in a multiple car accident in Texas on the 31st of August, 2024. The victims, who were travelling together in a car through a car pooling app, have been named as Aryan Raghunath Orampati, Farooq Shaik, Lokesh Palacharla and Darshini Vasudevan. The group was on their way to Bentonville, Arkansas when their SUV was hit from behind by a speeding truck at 3:30 PM near White Street. The accident caused a fire and the four were charred to death. 

 The victims were of different origin, but they all had the same goals. Aryan Orampati, a young man who graduated in engineering from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, had recently finished his Master’s at the University of Texas and was planning to work further in the US. His father Subhash Chandra Reddy is the owner of Hyderabad based firm Max Agri Genetics Private Limited. 

 Farooq Shaik, another Hyderabadi, had recently completed his MS degree in the US and was residing in Bentonville. Farooq’s father Masthan Vali said that he had gone to the US three years ago to continue with his studies. Vali is now a retired man and he is being taken care by his daughter who also lives in the US. 

 Lokesh Palacharla was going to Bentonville to visit his wife and Darshini Vasudevan, a Master’s graduate from the University of Texas, was going to visit her uncle. Darshini’s father had contacted India’s External Affairs Minister through the social media to appeal for assistance in searching for his daughter after she went missing after the crash.

 The identities of the victims are being established through DNA fingerprinting because the fire was very serious. The sad incident has elicited a lot of emotion among the Indian community in the United States as well as in India.
