In a shocking road rage incident in Surat, Gujarat, a 56-year-old man, Jitendra Kanthariya, was killed on Saturday after being dragged by a tempo at Ratnamala crossroads. The incident occurred around 3:30 pm following a heated argument over rash driving.
Kanthariya and his son, waiting at a traffic signal on their motorcycle, confronted tempo driver Mayur Mer (39) after their vehicle was hit. The situation escalated, with Mer allegedly abusing the duo before accelerating. In a tragic turn, the tempo ran over Kanthariya, dragging him a considerable distance before the driver fled the scene. Kanthariya died instantly.

In his statement, the accused claimed he felt threatened by the confrontation and was attempting to escape. He alleged that one of them stood in front of his vehicle as he drove off.
