A New Chapter in The Making:-
March 2003 marked the beginning of an era for Iraq and its people; a period of high political instability, a sluggish economy, and a great many restrictions. All of this began with the invasion by a "multinational coalition," including the US and the UK, to "disarm Iraq of weapons of mass destruction, end Saddam Hussein’s support for terrorism, and free the Iraqi people." The rest is history, and we shall not deal with it today! A New Chapter in The Making A New Chapter in The Making The crux of the matter lies in the passing of a bill in the US senate with a majority of 13-7 to end the Authorizations for the Use of Military Force (AUMF) against Iraq. The authorizations were passed by the US in 1991 amidst the Gulf War and in 2002 before the invasion of Iraq by the US and its alliance.  The vote on the new proposed idea might coincide with the date of the invasion, i.e., the 19th of March. This year would mark 2 decades from the invasion of Iraq by the United States, an incident that changed the course of the country and all of middle-east.  One of the Senators, Tim Kaine, believes that Iraq was an "enemy" back in 2002, and the end of authorization war on Iraq is a better decision now in 2023. The end of authorization war on Iraq would also mean that the President of the US won't be able to send troops for combat or assassinations and would limit the power of the Head of State.  People are also hopeful that events such as the assassination of senior Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Iraq; will not be repeated.  A New Chapter in The Making A New Chapter in The Making-A New Chapter in The Making The US's sternness in meddling in the affairs of other countries has already resulted in a lot of revolutions and armed warfare, not to mention the political instability and years of civil unrest within the countries. The end of authorization war on Iraq could mark a new beginning for the US and its foreign policies. Whether this is the case, only time will tell!
