Afghan Universities Banned Women as Female Students Were Not Following Instructions

Introduction

As per the order of the Higher Education Ministry run by the Taliban, female students were not permitted at private universities and the majority of girls' high schools were shut down by the government. Additionally, the government has prohibited the majority of female NGO workers from working.

The Taliban-run Ministry of Higher Education issued an order restricting female students from taking university entrance examinations at private universities in northern Afghanistan from the month of February, emphasizing the Taliban's policy of excluding women from tertiary education.   Afghan Universities Afghan Universities-Afghan Universities Along this approach, the government has prohibited female NGO workers from working and has closed the majority of the country's secondary schools for girls for more than a year. Furthermore, the Taliban's Education Ministry would also take legal action against any institutions that disobeyed its regulations.   The minister for higher education, Neda Mohammad Nadeem, asserted that Afghan female students had disregarded Islamic rules about what to wear and travel to schools and universities with a male relative. "They appeared as though they were attending a wedding. Girls who commuted to universities from their homes also disregarded the hijab rules", Mohammad Nadeem added.   Additionally, Nadeem claimed that several science fields were inappropriate for Afghan women. Conclusion

Taliban's restriction on women's employment and educational opportunities have received condemnation on a global scale. According to diplomats from all over the world, the Taliban would need to change its course on its treatment of women in order to have an opportunity at international recognition and a reduction in its current economic crisis.
