The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has suspended the Chief of Flight Safety of Air India after the aviation regulator found deficiencies in the accident prevention work carried out by the airline.
Air India was under monitoring by the DGCA on July 25 and 26, with the agency's attention focused on internal audits, accident prevention procedures, and the availability of technical employees.
As part of this analysis, it became clear that not all of the airline's internal audits and spot checks were carried out to the required standard.
The aviation authority issued a statement saying that the auditor who had conducted the inadequate inspections had been barred from performing any further audits, surveillance, or spot checks relating to DGCA compliance with Air India.
As a result of these failures, Air India's Chief of Flight Safety has been suspended for a month.
The DGCA's dedication to ensuring the aviation industry is as safe as possible by requiring strict compliance from all airlines is demonstrated by this move.
