Ex-CM Naidu Brought to Hospital Prior to His Presentation

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu was taken to a government hospital in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh, early on Sunday for a medical checkup. Sources say that officials from the Central Investigative Department (CID) brought him to the hospital, and he’s expected to appear before a magistrate later today.

After his medical checkup, he was taken back to the SIT office. It’s anticipated that Naidu will be presented before a special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Vijayawada. There’s a significant police presence at both the government hospital and the ACB court.

TDP MP Ravindra Kumar criticized the state government and the CID for the delay in presenting Naidu before the court, suggesting that Naidu’s arrest might be politically motivated

Last Saturday, Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh CID in connection with a Skill Development Corporation scam worth around Rs 3300 crore. The alleged fraud led to a government loss of over Rs 300 crore.

The CID discovered that the government gave Rs 371 crore to private companies, which instead of using it for the project, diverted it through fake invoices to bogus businesses. All the funds spent on these skill centers, amounting to Rs 371 crore, came from the government and the AP Skill Development Center.
