The upcoming Apple Watch was initially supposed to employ Microled Technology. It is renowned for their brilliant colors and increased brightness. This feature might also be included in other Apple products. But Apple refocused its efforts in response to the overwhelming obstacles it experienced in achieving this ambition.This led to a reorganization of its display engineering teams.

The hardware engineering team at Apple started working on a Microled Technology internally. They code-named it T159 around seven years ago. The project was then turned over to Wei Chen He is the chief of Apple's display division.
