Arshad Warsi, who has been basking in the success of Asur
2, recently shared his experience of being replaced by Salman Khan as the host
of Bigg Boss and by Akshay Kumar in Jolly LLB 2. Arshad had previously hosted
Bigg Boss before Salman took over and portrayed the central character in the
first Jolly LLB installment.
During a conversation with Amar Ujala, Arshad shed light on the circumstances that led to Akshay replacing him in Jolly LLB 2, while also unveiling an exciting development. He disclosed that he and Akshay are now set to collaborate in Jolly LLB 3, stating, "Jolly LLB 3 is currently in the works, and you will witness Akshay and me teaming up for the film. This was the original plan - I would feature in the first film, and he would take on the second." The two actors were last seen sharing the screen in Bachchhan Paandey the previous year.
Reflecting on Salman Khan taking over as the host of the
popular TV reality show Bigg Boss after Arshad Warsi hosted its inaugural
season, Arshad expressed his thoughts on the matter. He shared, "Regarding
Bigg Boss, I couldn't continue hosting the subsequent season as I was away in
London for a shoot. However, I firmly believe that Salman Khan is the perfect
host for the show. No one could have performed that role better than Salman.
The reality show requires someone like Salman with his 'Dabangg' persona."
Arshad's journey in Bollywood began as an assistant director to Mahesh Bhatt for the film Kaash (1987). He later ventured into choreography for movies like Roop Ki Raani Choron Ka Raja (1993), featuring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi, and Jackie Shroff. While his acting debut came with mera Sapne (1996), it was his breakthrough portrayal of Circuit in Sanjay Dutt's Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) that truly catapulted him into the limelight, establishing his presence in the industry.
In a candid conversation with Bollywood Hungama, Arshad
Warsi recently revealed a recurring pattern in his career where numerous
projects he was considered for ended up being assigned to other actors at the
final stages. Expressing his thoughts, he shared, "I am aware of my
potential and believe I could have achieved much more. This sentiment is common
among actors.
However, I feel that I am consistently underused. There
have been countless projects that were initially intended for me, but
unfortunately, at the last minute, they slipped into the hands of others.
Reflecting on this, I realized that they shouldn't have made that decision
because I would have undoubtedly delivered a superior performance. Hence, it is
safe to say that I am underrated and not given the opportunities I truly
deserve."
