On Saturday (April 8, 2023) Rahul Gandhi once again leveled accusations against PM Modi alleging his linkage with the Adani Group, Assam CM Himanta Biswas hit back.
Congress party has been repeatedly attempting to highlight PM Modi's alleged link with Gautam Adani after the surfacing of the Hindenburg Report.
Last month in March, Gandhi said,
"Please understand I am disqualified because the PM is scared of my next
speech on Adani. They do not want my speech. There is a deep relationship
between Adani and Modi". On April 8th, he once again intensified his
allegations suggesting that Congress leaders switching to BJP was a mere
distraction.
Gandhi went on to question the 20000
crores benami money's ownership in Adani companies in a tweet, adding some
graphical representation of five Congress turncoats including Himanta Biswas
Sharma.
Countering this Assam Chief Minister,
Himanta Biswa Sharma, who joined the party in 2015, said it was BJPs decency to
not question Gandhi on Bofors and National Herald scam cases. He tweeted,
"It was our decency to have never asked you, on where have you concealed
the proceeds of crime from the Bofors and National Herald Scams. And how you
allowed Ottavio Quattrocchi to escape the clutches of Indian justice multiple
times. Anyway, we will meet in the Court of Law (sic)".
Further, at a press briefing, Gandhi
said, "Please understand I am disqualified because the PM is scared of my
next speech on Adani. They do not want my speech. There is a deep relationship
between Adani and Modi".
