In the Baba Siddique murder case, shooter Shiv Kumar Gautam confirmed Siddique’s death before fleeing to Uttar Pradesh, where he was arrested. Connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Gautam had intended to escape to Nepal. The investigation also revealed the Bishnoi network’s alleged radical motives, including an unfulfilled assassination plot against another accused, Aftab Poonawala.
Mumbai police uncovered chilling details in the murder investigation of NCP leader Baba Siddique, revealing that the main shooter, Shiv Kumar Gautam, returned to the crime scene to ensure Siddique's death. After firing at Siddique in Bandra East, Gautam initially fled, disposed of his weapon, and then visited Lilavati Hospital in Bandra West to confirm Siddique's death before continuing his escape.
Gautam, apprehended in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, was reportedly a close associate of Shubham Lonkar, a key player connected to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. He allegedly coordinated with Anmol Bishnoi, Lawrence Bishnoi's brother. After the shooting, Gautam changed clothes, dumped evidence nearby, and returned to observe police activity. Following confirmation of Siddique’s death, he traveled from Mumbai to Uttar Pradesh, destroying his phone and purchasing a new one on the way.
The investigation also revealed that the killers planned to rendezvous in Ujjain before visiting Vaishnodevi. However, with two associates arrested at the crime scene, Gautam continued his escape alone, ultimately intending to cross into Nepal.

The police uncovered disturbing plans within the Bishnoi network, including an unfulfilled plot to assassinate Aftab Poonawala, accused of a high-profile murder in 2022. Linked to Bishnoi’s radical ideology, Lonkar reportedly organized a group aimed at executing individuals accused of violent crimes, undergoing training in Azerbaijan and Nepal to handle advanced weaponry.
