Bangladesh cricket team made history on Saturday by securing an astounding 546-run victory against Afghanistan in a one-off Test match held at Mirpur. This resounding win not only marked the third-largest margin of victory in Test cricket for any nation but also became the biggest win by runs in the 21st century. With an aggressive declaration at 425/4 in just 80 overs, Bangladesh set a massive target of 662 runs for Afghanistan.

 

Unfortunately for Afghanistan, their second innings proved to be even worse as they collapsed and were bowled out for a mere 115 runs. Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam spearheaded Bangladesh's bowling attack, claiming four wickets for 37 runs and three wickets for 28 runs respectively. Rahmat Shah was the only Afghan batsman who managed to surpass the 20-run mark, scoring 30 runs. Karim Janat and captain Hashmatullah Shahidi were the only other batters who reached double digits, with scores of 18 and 13 respectively.
