Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar drew parallels between the recent Bengaluru café blast and previous incidents in Mangalore and Shivamogga, highlighting similarities in the nature of the attacks. The explosion, characterized as low-intensity, occurred at the Rameshwaram Cafe in the Whitefield area on Friday afternoon, leaving nine individuals injured.

Shivakumar stated on Saturday that the police possess footage capturing the movements of the suspect, including their arrival and departure from the scene of the incident. Read more news here.

"We have multiple teams actively investigating all possible angles. Bengaluru is equipped with extensive CCTV coverage, providing footage of the suspect boarding and disembarking from a bus, as well as their movements before and after the explosion. The investigation is proceeding diligently," Shivakumar remarked.

He further added, "Despite the suspect potentially wearing a cap or glasses, their facial features are identifiable in the CCTV footage. Our priority is a thorough and impartial investigation. The city is under constant surveillance, and the authorities are striving to ensure the safety and security of all residents."

Addressing attempts to politicize the situation, Shivakumar cautioned against hasty blame games and urged cooperation across party lines. He noted, "The incidents in Mangalore and Shivamogga occurred during BJP's tenure. We must refrain from politicizing such sensitive matters. Let the investigation proceed without interference."

Expressing concerns over potential politicization by the BJP, Shivakumar emphasized the importance of constructive engagement and urged the opposition to refrain from tarnishing Bengaluru's reputation.
