A director of a band got tased with an electric device and arrested by the police because he didn’t listen to them when they told him to stop the band from playing after a high school football game.

This happened in Birmingham, and it was after Minor High School won against PD Jackson-Olin High School. The police wanted everyone to leave the stadium, but both schools’ bands were still playing music. The police talked to the band leaders and asked them to stop playing so people would leave. The home team’s band stopped, but the leader of Minor’s band, Johnny Mims, didn’t stop. He told his band to keep playing, and that’s why he got in trouble with the police.

The police In Birmingham had body cameras on, and they recorded the band director, Mims, being told to stop the performance by multiple officers. Instead of listening, Mims told them to get out of his face and said they were about to finish their last song. When one officer warned that he would go to jail, Mims didn’t seem bothered and even gave a thumbs-up, saying it was cool.

Then, the stadium’s lights went off, and the band finished their song. As Mims stepped down from the platform, a struggle started between him and the officers, with Mims yelling at them to get off of him. One officer claimed that Mims hit him during the arrest, and then the officer used a Taser on Mims, which caused him to fall to the ground. People in the crowd were heard screaming during this incident.

Then, the arresting officer, who was standing in front of Mims, used a Taser on him.
